The Union Officers recently met with Administration about the 2% Incentive Pay Policy and the memo (#102-09) that was distributed about the current audit and the recovery of funds for those not in compliance.
We are happy to report that after much discussion with Administration, they have agreed to NOT recover funds of those individuals who have not been in compliance with the policy since September 11, 2008.You will not loose any pay that you have received since September 11, 2008 as it relates to the current policy, however, after they have completed their audit, you will receive written notification if you are not in compliance and will have seven (7) days to become compliant or will you be removed from the Incentive Pay Program.
Persons who have used multiple truck qualifications (ex: Bronto, Senior Arial, E-One Rear Mount) as a part of the incentive prior to September 11, 2008 will be able to use that towards your incentive pay. After September 11, 2008, only one truck can be used as a part of the incentive qualification program.Due to the new State Certification process which does not distinguish one truck from another, one qualification will be good for all trucks.
All members will have to submit their qualifications on the new Job Incentive Pay Form and submit it to Headquarters.
Dates of prior qualifications can be found in training files at the TrainingCenter or your Personnel File at Headquarters.Members should follow provisions in Article 22 of the Memorandum of Understanding as it relates to viewing Personnel Files at Headquarters.
Administration is also looking at “reconvening” the Job Incentive Pay Committee, to which Division Chief Mark Boyd will be the Chairman of.More information on that will be forthcoming. If you have ideas of what job upgrade you would like to see added as a possible qualification, please forward that information to Chief Boyd or the Union Office. This will once again be a Joint Labor/Management Committee.Anyone interested in serving on this committee please contact your Division Rep or the Union Office.
