My name is Richard Hauser. I am an Executive Board member of Hillsborough Firefighters Local 2294 in Tampa, FL. I had the distinct honor to meet one of your members, Driver Todd Conkiln on this year's Pink Heals Tour. Todd and I became instant friends while being tourmates, roommates, and having about the same time on the job respectively. We have stayed in touch since my tour time concluded in October and have managed to still make fun of each other via Facebook. Todd was touched by my story. My wife is currently battling stage 4 colon cancer, successfully. Her fight was the reason I became involved with Pink Heals and happened to be on the tour. Just recently my wife got great news concerning her PET scan, it being negative for signs of cancer, which of course I immediately posted on Facebook for the world to read. Of course Todd and his wife Melissa posted very positive comments, like everyone else. But, Todd took it one step further. A childhood friend of his lives in the Tampa Bay area and owns a restaurant. Todd contacted him and asked if he would be willing to have our family to his restaurant, on the house, due to the excellent test results. The owner of the restaurant even threw in a hotel room for the night, at Todd's urging. Todd is keeping the true spirit of our Brotherhood alive in a time where it under attack, not only from the politicians but from our own apathetic ranks who believe in "24 and out the door!" I would like Todd to be recognized for his efforts on my wife's behalf.  He is a true Brother of the fire service and you should be proud to have him as a member.  Thank you for the audience, and be safe.
